Answers on postage, U.S. and international mail, direct mail costs, customs and duties, turnaround times and minimums.
Working with RMS.
No. RMS is based in Toronto, but we work with businesses across Canada and companies around the world that mail and ship into Canada and the U.S.
Send the quote form, call 416-533-MAIL (6245) or email us. Tell us what you are sending, how many and where. We usually reply within one business day.
Yes. Many clients use us for several services at once, with one quote and one invoice.
For a single standard letter, retail postage from Canada Post applies, and the rate changes from time to time. For business mailings of hundreds or thousands of pieces, RMS quotes a per-piece price based on size, weight and volume, which is usually lower than retail.
Address it with the recipient name, street, city, state and ZIP code, write USA on the last line, and add the correct postage. For business volumes, send us the file and the artwork, and we handle printing, addressing and posting.
Delivery times depend on the service level and the destination. We give you a realistic delivery window with every quote, so you can plan around deadlines.
There is no fixed minimum. Business rates make the most sense from a few hundred pieces up, but tell us what you have and we will suggest the most economical option.
Retail international postage depends on the destination, the size and the weight of each piece. For business mailings, RMS quotes a per-piece rate for each region, usually below retail. Send us a sample and your country list for a quote.
It depends on the destination and the service level chosen. We include realistic delivery windows by region in every quote.
Yes. International companies send us their files or printed mail, and we prepare and post it in Canada so it reaches Canadian addresses as domestic mail.
We mail worldwide. Tell us where your recipients are and we will confirm the best option for each region.
The cost depends on the number of pieces, the format (postcard, letter or flyer), the print run and whether the mail is addressed or unaddressed. RMS quotes each campaign with print and postage together, so you see the full cost up front.
Direct mail is printed marketing sent by post, such as postcards, letters, catalogues and flyers. It can be addressed to specific people or delivered to every home in an area.
Neighbourhood Mail is Canada Post’s unaddressed mail service. Flyers and other pieces are delivered to every address on the routes you choose, with no mailing list needed.
Yes. We handle printing, addressing, preparation and posting, so the whole campaign is managed by one team.
Magazines, newsletters, books, booklets, catalogues, postcards, flyers, letters and envelopes, in digital or offset depending on the quantity.
Yes. We work with print partners in Toronto and across Canada, and choose the best fit for each job.
Yes. That is where we save clients the most time. Printed pieces go straight into mail preparation and posting.
Turnaround depends on the format, quantity and finishing. We confirm the timeline with your quote.
Questions about transborder parcels & couriers.
It depends on the size, weight, speed and value of the parcel. RMS compares carriers for each shipment and uses business rates, which are usually well below what you pay at a retail counter.
Commercial shipments to the U.S. need a commercial invoice or customs form describing the goods, their value and their origin. We help you prepare it correctly.
On 29 August 2025 the U.S. suspended its US$800 duty-free threshold for most imports, so duties and taxes now apply to most parcels. Shipments need the right paperwork and a plan for who pays the duties.
We focus on domestic, transborder and international parcel shipping at discounted rates, rather than same-day local delivery.
A third-party logistics (3PL) provider stores your products, picks and packs each order, and ships it to your customer. Many also handle returns and inventory reporting.
Costs usually include storage, a pick and pack fee per order and shipping. They depend on your order volume, product size and where your customers are. RMS gives you a clear quote based on your numbers.
Yes. Many U.S. and international brands keep stock in Canada so Canadian orders ship domestically and arrive faster without border charges for the customer.
Most popular store platforms can connect to fulfillment partners. Tell us which platform you use and we will confirm the setup.
Questions about transportation & inventory management systems.
It is a system that connects to several carriers at once, so you can compare rates, print labels and track shipments from one place instead of using each carrier’s website.
If you ship regularly with more than one carrier, a simple TMS usually pays for itself through lower rates and less time spent booking shipments.
Store platforms track basic stock, but if you sell in several places or hold stock in more than one location, dedicated inventory management keeps the numbers accurate.
Yes. RMS sets up the system, trains your team and provides ongoing support.
